a traditioanl old fashioned pub with good beer - the type that is probably not going to exist in a few years. so if you like a traditional pub with snooker, pool, skittles, music nightts, free room hire - use it or loose it.

I've known this pub for 30 years and, apart from the price of a pint, nothing much has changed. Thank god there's still a few proper Cardiff pubs left!

The Gower is a GREAT pub run by really welcoming people.

It has all the essetials, two pool tables, a full size snooker table, a jukebox, an IT Box and fruit machines, 2 bars, lots of seating, 2 beer gardens (which are a good size), A huge function room upstairs, 7 different types of brains aswell as some largers such as fosters; and strongbow cider.

Wait for it a FREE Skittles lane - Tons of fun.

Monday night quiz night

Tuesday night poker

Thursday night open mic night.

(Occasionally Live Bands)

Huge Tv's (that can be different channels) ideal for watching sport (setanta and sky and terestrial). Nice and quiet for a social drink. Nice and loud for a footy match and a good rugby game.

Free Wifi (Really good for students wanting a place to revise).

Definately Worth A Visit

the Gower is a good old fashioned honest pub totally free of the kitsch theme pub accessories of recent years. It is a Brains pub which means great beer, it is also huge and friendly with not only pool but also snooker tables, a lounge, an old school public bar and a characterful function room upstairs which hosts blues gigs. I would everyone to support this great pub, community pubs like this are few and far between.
