My husband and I met 2 friends in the Wellington, once last year and again this March. They were returning to Greece and this was a half way venue for us all. Both times we have really enjoyed our visit to the pub, we received a warm friendly welcome, good traditional pub food and this visit were treated to a musical element as it was the landlady's birthday. Steve Getz was fantastic and we loved his singing. Thank you to you all, will definitely come again and would highly recommend your pub

My brother and I attended the Burns Supper on Saturday evening and we had a fabulous time. The food, atmosphere and entertainment was excellent and I am sure all the other attendees will agree, that the cost of the evening represented terrific value. We are regularly in Portsmouth for both business or pleasure and we have been visiting The Wellington during most of our trips. We find the management and staff very friendly and regularly meet new faces when we visit. The overall ambience is superb and we look forward to visiting again very soon.

PS. Try the Sunday lunch, it is terrific quality and value.

I was interested to read the article in the News re New Year in which the landlady states 'food is my passion' because you received a really bad review by Carol Godsmark in the News who only gave you a poor rating for food.

Recently refurbished throughout with a lovely welcoming garden with heaters and a sail canopy, cushions and blankets on the chairs bodes well for a pleasant evening out in Old Portsmouth. Traditional home cooked food using locally sourced ingredients, well presented and reasonablely priced. Two for one offers from Monday to Friday make a very cheap night out. Free food Friday from 5 - 6.30pm is another innovative way the pub gets its customers to remain loyal. Well known for it's 3 course Sunday lunches, all home made at £11.95
