I never did the "mile", as in my youth spending summer holidays in West Cross at my aunt's house I was too young to go in pubs! But, am I correct in thinking that "The Mermaid" was also a pub in the "mile" I don't see it listed but I'm sure I remember a pub called that and I think it was a favourite of "the Bard of Cwmdonkin" Dylan Thomas (mind there were so many favourites!!)
