I frequented 'The Chi' in the late 90's. I was an avid pool player but not local to Chester, Irish actually. The acceptance in this truly local pub was amazing. I spent most my time in the bar with wee Dave and crew playing pool. I have to admit I got quite good, even joined the local pool league team. Great bunch of lads, enjoyed my Wednesdays there. Jimmy was the land lady's son at the time and, whilst her name eludes me; she did a knightly palette on pool night. Super lounge, authentic English pub with real character and welcoming cliental. Would recommend to anyone for a good English ale. Irish Joe. (Back home now but will never forget my nights at 'The Chi'.

One of the last true locals. It had become run down and a bit seedy, but the new landlady Christine has changed all that. There were a few troublemakers, but she is a strong lady and she banned them without hesitating. The garden had a lot of broken and damaged furniture and other rubbish, but that has all gone and it is now a nice place to have a beer of the evening.
