This is an unappealing pub in a pretty grim location, but in its favour it DID have Sunday afternoon jazz of a really good standard (and FREE) - until a couple of weeks ago, that is. And from what I've read this is not the first time the jazz has been discontinued without warning. As far as I'm concerned there is no other reason to go to this pub so I certainly won't be going again.

If the management had thought things through they might have realised that the only way to make the jazz pay was by charging a nominal entrance fee (say £4 or £5). I would have been prepared to pay this, as I imagine most of the other jazz fans going there on a regular basis would have. Just a thought....

Don't bother any more. New owners have taken the pub downhill faster than an olympic skier. Beer seems to run out on a daily basis. Food is very poor and served by a rude chef who looks more like he's been working on a motorbike than cooking. Also they kicked out the Sunday afternoon jazz.
