The TK has changed quite a bit in recent times. Previously The Burlington, then The Polar East, its new manifestation is the best in some 8 years. This recent change of ownership has morphed the TK from being the old Polar, which had closed off the large front doors (looking down to the sea) to put up a massive projector for football matches. It really was quite disturbing. All that is done away with and you will find no tvs and no fruities in the TK. The big front doors are open in the sun, all of the furniture is dark, solid wood and the décor adorned with antiquated maps of the UK and the world – it’s a splendid atmosphere. There’s a real fire, church pews, large low leather sofas and a large bar stocking a superb selection. And the food – the new chef is top notch. Try it, go there and see how the TK has kicked out the old vibes of the Polar. Children welcome, Open Mic, Quiz and great beer. Highly Recommended.
